The kids blog about living in Exurbia. I think about Slow Life. Sounds so peaceful.
But try as I may, in practice, and as always, my job in life is to Create Schedules, and then keep the family to them. Not exactly Slow Life -- Slow Down so you have time to have a life? No, the ultimate irony, my job description: Time Keeper!
And why, every time The Schedule has just about graduated into a mindless Routine, does it need reinventing yet again!? Being the Time Keeper when there is no Schedule should be like a holiday, but instead of having Slow Life, I can't help but shift into "Create Schedules" mode. This involves bending my brain into 4-dimensions (and sometimes 5) and trying to connect the dots.
That is when I throw up my hands and trust that the mechanism will sort out the situation in a Candide-like Best of all Possible Worlds, which I guess brings me full circle?! Where was I again, a gold fish in the fish tank? OK, I'm chucking Creating Schedule mode, and caving to Slow Life, maybe I'll think about it tomorrow -- not!
